The Whatever blog will be hosting an evening of art and music at a rad new venue in Bushwick Brooklyn called The Paper Box on Friday July 27th. There will be jazz on the patio in the early evening and rock in the back room after 8pm and some really amazing art all night. The flyer below which was created by the lovely and very talented Michela Buttignol (who will be showing her art work that night) has all the night's details. And to RSVP on Facebook for this event click here.

The Bushwick Walk About Festival pictures
As previously mentioned this past Friday & Saturday was the The Bushwick Walk About Festival.
Due to a previous social engagement that I had after I only got to see a few bands and what I heard was really amazing.
The first band I heard was The Lost Revival from Ohio. The Walk About Festival was the Columbus Ohio based Band's first New York gig in four years. The Lost Revival had a really unique, heavy & edgy sound that included a sax and they played a really straight forward rocking set. I can only describe The Lost Revival's sound as Queens of The Stone Age meets Syd Barrett meets Lena Lovich meets the Smiths.
The next band up was The Courtesy Tier. The Courtesy Tier are a Brooklyn duo that have been around for the last year or so & the Courtesy Tier play really precise, good intense rock that harkens back to the Helio Sequence . The Courtesy Tier didn't disappoint yesterday they played a really excellent tight set.
After the Courtesy Tier was Hollis Brown. Hollis Brown is a band whose music is straight ahead good time rock and roll, it's the kind of music you hear at your local dive bar on a Saturday night. Hollis Brown got the crowd up and dancing with a very energetic set that included a Creedence Clearwater Revival cover.
The last band I saw on Saturday was The Loom. I have done previous blog entries about this band I just LOVE them! The Loom were just so awesome on Saturday, they were just so on!
All and all The Bushwick Walk About Festival was a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I look forward to The Bushwick Walk About Festival 2013!
