I'm in a mood today where all I want to listen too is A Place To Bury Strangers first album which is named after the band. My favorite track off of APTBS' first album is "I Know I'll See You" the video for which is posted below.

Monday Stuff
This Friday night March 9th will sort of be a Whatever blog party at the Rock Shop in Brooklyn. Cinema Cinema, Wojcik and Candidate play. You can click here to RSVP for this party. Park Slope Brooklyn will be rocked to it's core this friday night and you need to be there!
As mentioned in a blog post last week Davy Jones of the Monkees passed away at the age of 66 and you all know that I'm a huge Monkees fan and that the Monkees were my first musical influence. Well yesterday I was in my glory because the cable TV station Antenna aired an all day Monkees marathon and at ten o' clock last night they aired the Monkees movie "Head". "Head" was written by the Monkees and Jack Nicholson under the influence of lots of LSD. The Monkees co stars in "Head" include everyone from the famous boxer Sonny Liston to 60's teen actress Annette Funicello to Frank Zappa to a very young pre "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" Terri Garr. The plot of "Head" is sort of about the Monkees parodying their image as teen idols but not really, the film is very late 60's rock and roll I highly recommend Netflixing "Head" and watching it with your friends while under the influence of those funny smelling cigarettes. Anyhow one of the greatest scenes in "Head" involves Davy Jones performing Harry Nilsson's tune "Daddy's Song" Broadway style, the clip is below. And just a little side note the woman dancing with Davy Jones in the clip is Toni Basil who would go on to have a massive hit in the 80's with the song "Mickey"-which isn't about Mickey Dolenz.
Moving on...Miss Alex White of White Mystery had a little chat with MTV and you can read that little chat here and download the latest White Mystery song "Power People".

Communion NYC
I attended the March Communion NYC show at Public Assembly this evening and was highly impressed with what I saw. Due to having two big nights out and a cold that won't go away I only stayed for Anthony Da Costa's set.
Anthony Da Costa played an amazing set and here are the pictures to prove it.
Communion NYC happens the first Sunday of every month at Public Assembly in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The line up changes for each show so be sure to check Communion NYC's website.
