The L Magazine the folks behind the Northside festival have asked the Whatever blog to curate not one but two Northside showcases this year. Playing the Whatever blog/Northside showcase part duex will be; Alyson Greenfield, Crazy Pills, The Planes, Goldstreets and LUFF, part duex will happen on June 15th at Legion which is located at 790 Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

The Northside Festival starts on June 14th and goes till June 21st and not only includes music, but also film, art and talks on entrepreneurship. To see the music and film line up and to buy your badges for Northside click here. The Northside festival is a serious good time.

Moving on...I was sad to read that legendary bass player Donald "Duck" Dunn passed away over the weekend. Donald "Duck" Dunn was part of the legendary soul band Booker T. & The M.G.'s who had a huge hit with the song "Green Onions" and "Duck" Dunn was part of the Stax house band. He played bass for everyone from Otis Redding to Eric Clapton to Stevie Nicks, he also appeared in the 1980 film "The Blues Brothers" as  The Blues Brothers bass player. Donald "Duck" Dunn was a true talent and will be missed..RIP!
