Some stuff
I'm pleased to announce the first 2011 Whatever blog party..WOO HOO! It takes place on Sunday Feb 13th at the Glasslands and on the bill thus far are; Gold Streets, Gypsy George and Little Wolf, which is Wyndham from Diamond Doves and Elvis Perkins in Dearland's other side project. Wyndham along with his Diamond Doves & EPID band mate Nick dj the night, there will be more details on this show to follow so keep it here!
As previously mentioned I'm a huge fan of Jack White and I'm obsessed with anything he does. He could belch the alphabet and I would still put Jack White's recording of the belching of the alphabet on heavy rotation on my ipod.... that's how much of a musical genius I think he is! Anyhow I love the Dead Weather and I named "Sea of Cowards" one of my favorite albums of 2010, this past weekend I've had "Sea of Cowards" on heavy rotation on my ipod and listening to that album always makes me realize how good Alison Mossheart is. Another band that was on heavy rotation on my ipod this weekend was The Kills which is Alison Mossheart's other band with Jamie Hince (aka Mr.Kate Moss), I'm really quite excited for the Kills new album Blood Presures which comes out in April. Till then you all will just have to watch the clip for "What New York Used To Be" which is off of 2008's "Midnight Boom".

The Giraffes
I was sad to read that Aaron Lazar frontman for the Giraffes is leaving the band. For all you not in the know The Giraffes are one of the best New York hard core punk bands. Going to a Giraffes show is an experience within itself, stand too close to the front of the stage and you may get pelted with a spit ball or have beer poured on you courtesy of the Giraffes and you may have to dodge flying beer cans and cups of water while watching the band. In another words going to a Giraffes show is one hell of an awesome experience!
The Giraffes last show with Aaron is on Febuary 5th at the Mercury Lounge in Manhattan. I urge all of you New Yorkers to go and I urge all of you who will be in New York at that time to go. Aaron is truly one of the greatest frontmen and a major talent and the Giraffes are just such a cool fucking band!
