Tim Fite at Symphony Space

Last night I had the pleasure of seeing Tim Fite play Symphony Space on Manhattan's Upper West Side. Tim Fite is a musician whose music can best be described as a combination of hip hop, folk and country with elements of industrial music thrown in for good measure. Fite uses visuals in his live performance, last night he had video of himself singing the song and playing the instruments to the song that he was singing live at that moment and in between each song he told stories that were written by "the man with the ichy legs" that had some pretty amazing illustrations to go along with the stories.  Tim Fite also had video accompaniment of sorts on certain songs from his brother "Sexy Leroy" and Fite's father helped introduce the songs that he performed last night via video, the majority of which were from his soon to be released album.

I really liked Tim Fite's music it's so good in every way and I loved his live show it was quite an experience that didn't overwhelm you with it's seriousness in the way that some visual artists/musicians can be. There is a lot of humor mixed in with topical issues going on in Tim Fite's music and live shows which makes it that much more fantastic. I highly recommend that you check out Tim Fite.
