A few things...
Whatever blog Art director Nick Savage is still hard at work on the ultimate flyer for the ultimate Brooklyn holiday party! We should have that ultimate flyer up and posted tomorrow. As the kids on that "Jersey Shore" TV show say greatness takes time!
And to remind you the ultimate Brooklyn holiday party goes down on 12/22 at the GlassLand Gallery in Williamsburg Brooklyn. The ultimate Whatever blog holiday party stars, Schocholautte, Total Slacker, The Art of Shooting, Total Womanhood and Drink Up Buttercup these bands are part of the creme de la creme of the indie scene! This bill is a holiday treat for your ears, you've got to come! The fun all starts at 8pm and it's seven dollars to get in and you must be 21 and over. The GlassLand Gallery is located at 289 Kent Avenue in Williamsburg Brooklyn.
Moving along to a not so pleasant subject, last blog post I posted about the tragic murder of drummer Troy Young last weekend in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn. I heard from one of Troy's aunts and she said the family asks if anyone has any information on Troy's tragic murder that they call Detective Normile at 716-946-3319 or Detective Jurwitz at719-894-3321. Please if any of you out there can shed some light on Troy's case please please call one of these detectives so that Troy's killer can be brought to justice!
I leave you today with "60 Feet Tall" by the Dead Weather. I just LOVE this song, it's so very sexy! Allison Mosshart is a total rock star in every good way!

A sad weekend for indie music in NYC
This past weekend there were two unfortunate deaths in the world of NYC indie music. The first was the tragic murder of Curious Mishap and The Spines drummer Troy Young in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn on Friday night. According to the NY Post article Troy was found by police late Friday night with a gun shot wound to his chest. The article also said that Troy's friends last saw him alive on Tuesday and the article also noted that nothing was disturbed in his apartment and the door was unlocked. Young's sister mentions in the Post article, that her brother recently met a girl who was in a relationship with another guy who seemed to be "getting in her brother's face". Troy Young was 29 years old.
The second death occurred yesterday, when well known indie funk DJ Solange Raulston was side swiped by a truck in Greenpoint Brooklyn while ridding her bike. Solange Raulston was 33 years old.
My sympathies go out to the families and friends of both Troy and Solange. To loose two very talented young people in such awful tragic ways especially at this time of the year is truly heartbreaking.
We at the Whatever blog will do our part to help any friends, family members and the NYPD bring Troy Young's killer to justice. If any family member, friend or NYPD officer reading this, has a hotline number that people who may have information on this case can call or a composite sketch of the suspect please email it to us and we will post it ASAP.
And friends of Solange and Troy please let us know if there are any memorial or benefit shows coming up in Troy and Solange's memory. We will post and promote those for you.
