Band to check out...

Due to a family thing in Philly, the Whatever blog will not be bringing you coverage of tomorrow 7/18's Siren Fest. The Whatever blog urges all of you in the NYC area who are looking for something to do on a Saturday, to go and check out Siren Fest it's free!

Moving right along I'm really loving this band called In Cadeo. In Cadeo is from Ohio, Bethesda Maryland and Portland Oregon but they all met up and live in Brooklyn. The sound of In Cadeo is a little bit of garage, old school punk with grunge elements they remind me a little bit of The Meat Puppets. The lyrics are simplistic, deep and smart. Check out this way cool video for their song "The Archer".

My Mother's Red Hat w/Alicia Silverstone & Alanis Morissette

This is really funny and very true! This is basically every film made by Ellen Page, Kat Dennings and Zooey Deschanel. And I can just see it, the love interests in "My Mother's Red Hat" would be played by Michael Cera, Joseph Gordon Levitt or Elijah Wood. And Jason Bateman, a really well known character actor who you've seen in about a billion films but don't know his name and a big Hollywood stars like Drew Barrymore, Jack Black and Ben Stiller would all have supporting roles. And someone like Debbie Harry or John Doe from X would be cast as the wise old cocktail waitress or mechanic who the girls meet along the way who moonlights as a singer.

I've written the entire plot to "My Mother's Red Hat"! Here is the clip..it's funny..ENJOY!!

The most offensive song ever...

Is by 3Oh3! It's called "Don't Trust Me", the most offensive lyrics are when you get to the 2:05 mark and they are as follows, "Sussh Girl shut your lips do the Helen Keller and talk with your hips". Looking at the two hipster doofs who make up 3Oh3! I really hope that they are joking and trying to be clever with this song
