Static Summer and The Sinatra Group

If you are looking to hear some awesome live heavy music this Saturday 5/2 and you are in Manhattan.... I would seriously suggest going down to the Delancey to check out Static Summer. Static Summer has a really cool edgy sound hard sound that is kinda like a cross between Duran Duran and Helmet. Static Summer takes the stage at 11:15pm.... you will be blown away by the power of Static Summer!! It's ten dollars and twenty one and older to get in. The Delancey is located at 168 Delancey Street between Clinton and Attorney Streets in Manhattan.

Moving along! The other day I watched a bio on TV about Phil Hartmann. For all you not in the know Phil Hartmann was a cast member of "Saturday Night Live" in the late 80's. In the 90's he was on the tv show "NewsRadio" and he did the voice for Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz on "The Simpsons". Phil Hartmann was tragically shot to death by his wife who then turned the gun on herself in 1998.

Anyhow this bio showed clips of Hartmann when he was on SNL and one of the impressions that he did while on SNL was of Frank Sinatra. And to me he did the best Sinatra in all of SNL history! It was really dead on! One of the clips that was shown in this bio was a parody of the "McLaughlin Group" (which was a round table news show that aired back in the day) the SNL parody was called "The Sinatra Group". It to me is one of the funniest SNL sketches of all time. I've posted "The Sinatra Group" clip below..Sting as Billy Idol is totally priceless..."I've got chunks of guys like you in my stool" is the best line hehehe!! Enjoy!!
