Breaking down the Bonoroo line up...

The line up for this years Bonoroo Festival has been announced and the headliners of Bonoroo this year are; Bruce Springsteen and the E. Street Band, Nine Inch Nails, Phish, The Beastie Boys, David Byrne and Elvis Costello solo. Other people who are scheduled to play the 'roo are Snoop Dog, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, TV on the Radio, Girl Talk, Jenny Lewis and one of my all time favorites Elvis Perkins in Dearland (EPID's new songs are beautiful check them out on elvisperkinsindearland.com) among others. And can anyone confirm if Katy Perry has been added to the line up? I thought that I read she was going to be playing the 'Roo this year. If she is why!? The Bonoroo people might as well have gotten Ashlee Simpson to lip sync! I can't stand Katy Perry!! The American Lilly Allen, Katy Perry is most certainly not!! Katy can't hold a candle to Lilly musically!! Lilly is here to stay Katy Perry hopefully will be a one trick pony and go away soon!!

The line up despite Katy Perry (who may or may not be playing), Phish (I'm really not into jam bands) and Snoop Dog (can't really say I'm into his sorta hip hop) is a real stellar one.

In all my concert going years I have never seen Bruce Springsteen live! I have heard that seeing Bruce live is a whole religious experience! I saw the Beastie Boys back when I was in high school, that was around the time of "Sabotage". I wouldn't mind seeing them once again I liked the last instrumental album they put out. I've seen Nine Inch Nails twice and as mentioned in this blog before Reznor is a musical idol of mine. I think he is brilliant!! "Pretty Hate Machine" is one of my all time favorite albums. I kinda like this new atmospheric stuff that he is doing now. As mentioned I'm not really into jam bands with the exception of Dr. Dog (but you can't really call them a jam band) so I wouldn't be all that excited about seeing Phish. Elvis Costello, was my first really serious concert that I was dragged along to by my mom when I was 12 and that was a great experience. I'm sure he by himself is going to be a very interesting show. And David Byrne I've never seen live but I would imagine he would be really fascinating live.

Since the recession has rendered me poor and I can't afford the plane ticket to Tennessee or the ticket to the 'Roo, I ask all of you who are going to send in your pictures and tell me your stories and give me your reviews.

Today I leave you with some Springsteen clips. The first is a clip of the song "Broken Radio" which is a duet between Bruce and one of my very favorite people Mr. Jesse Malin.

The second clip is a friday funny so to speak it's of Ben Stiller doing his impression of The Boss on a children's show. The clip is from Stiller's very funny sketch TV show "The Ben Stiller Show"

And the last clip of the day is a live clip of the Boss himself with the E. Street band from 1976. He's performing one of his greatest and most epic songs "Thunder Road".

Something spooky....

Veering off from the music for a sec.
As you all know I LOVE any TV show that has anything to do with true ghost stories. A couple of weeks ago I was watching "Monster Quest" on the History Chanel and they did a whole segment about Gettysburg in PA. For all you kids not in the know Gettysburg was the site of a major battle during the US Civil War. The battle fields are now in the possession of the National Park Service and you can tour them. Anyhow Gettysburg is supposedly one of the most haunted locations in all the US. My ex brother in law used to say that he would never want to be on the battle fields late at night cause that is how spooky the battle fields are. Part of the hazing ritual the frats at Gettysburg College have is that they drop a pledge off in the middle of the battle field at midnight and make them find their way back to the campus. And a very famous Gettysburg ghost story, is that every year on the actual dates of the battle the Park Service has people come and reenact the battles and one year two guys who were actors were taking a break and out of the blue this guy who they thought was a actor as well came up to them and handed them live ammunition and live ammunition isn't allowed in the park!

The clip below is from a tourist from Kentucky's video camera. The said tourist was at Gettysburg with his family video taping their trip and when he got home to watch the tape he noticed something strange about it. Check out the back part of the woods in the clip.
