The Oscars

As I've been saying I like to see the films that they say are going to be nominated, plus I like seeing what everyone is wearing cause.... I'm a dork like that!

Here are my thoughts about last night's oscars;

I've always liked Javier Bardem, I've always thought he was a great actor. I have yet to see "No Country For Old Men", I've heard nothing but really good things about that film and his performance. I hear his character and performance in that film is really very chilling. My only complaint with this category was, why wasn't the kid who played the young preacher in "There Will be Blood" nominated for best supporting actor!? I thought he deserved the nom more then Philip Seymour Hoffman did in "Charlie Wilson's War". I like Philip Seymour Hoffman I think he's a fantastic actor, but I thought the preacher kid from "There Will Be Blood" had a better performance then PSH in "Charlie Wilson's War". I thought PSH was basically playing his character in "Along Came Polly" as a CIA agent in "Charlie Wilson's War". Did anyone else think that too?

Tilda Swenson is a really great actress, she was very good in "Michael Clayton". But I don't know I still say Cate Blanchet deserved it more for playing Bob Dylan in "I'm Not There".

I was really very glad Marion Cotillard won for "La Vie En Rose", she's really excellent in that film! I highly recommend renting "La Vie En Rose"...Marion Cotillard transformed herself into Edith Piaf beautifully. It wasn't an impression! This woman was Edith Piaf for the duration of that film! Well deserved I thought!

I was very happy to see Daniel Day Lewis win, as I mentioned he is one of my favorite actors. I was saying to my friend last night no matter how much of an evil prick Daniel Day Lewis plays in his films, he still is such a handsome and sexy bastard to me!

As much as I hated "Juno" I was really glad that Diablo Cody won. With her background of being a stripper turned blogger turned novelist turned screenwriter..it kinda really made me feel like even for me, something could come of my little blog and my writing! My wildest dreams could come true! As corny as that sounds that's the way I felt when I saw her acceptance speech!

I can't tell you how thankful I was that the song from the "Once" won for best original song. I loved the film "Once" and I loved the music from the film. Why did three hokey songs from "Enchanted" have to be nominated? There was a Bob Dylan film this year couldn't one of the songs from "I'm Not There" have been nominated!? I'm just relieved that god awful song from "Juno" by the Moldy Peaches wasn't nominated. Kimya Dawson makes me sound like Aretha Franklin and I can't sing to save my life, maybe if I sung on a song I too could get some hipster kitch creed and have one of my songs be on an indie movie soundtrack!

What the freak was Hannah Montana doing there presenting an award!? All though I have to admit, I really liked her dress, make-up and hair it was one of my favorites of the night.

And that leads to my best dressed of the night list......

Hannah Montana
Amy Adams (loved the color of her dress thought that green color looked pretty with her red hair)
Jennifer Garner
Hillary Swank
Marion Cotillard
Kathryn Higel
Helen Miren (does anyone else think Helen Miren is a hot cougar?)
